PBAT Celebrates Youth Excellence Through NYSC Honours Award – A Testament to Ongoing Youth Empowerment Drive

As part of its unwavering commitment to youth development, the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, under the dynamic leadership of Comrade Ayodele Olawande, Minister of Youth Development, has once again demonstrated that young Nigerians are at the heart of its national agenda.
On Tuesday, July 29th, 2025, at the Banquet Hall of the Presidential Villa, Abuja, the President, who was represented by the Minister of State for Labour and Employment, Hon. Nkeiruka Onyejeocha, conferred the prestigious NYSC Honours Award on 200 exceptional ex-Corps Members for their outstanding contributions during national service. The awardees, selected for their impact across education, health, agriculture, and grassroots development, embody the values of patriotism, unity, and excellence.
In a bold move to further motivate young achievers, President Tinubu announced automatic employment into the Federal Civil Service, postgraduate scholarships, and monetary rewards for all honorees. Notably, the event also celebrated 10 physically challenged recipients under the Hope Alive Initiative, highlighting the administration’s inclusive approach to youth empowerment.

Minister Ayodele Olawande, who joined in honouring the recipients, reaffirmed the administration’s commitment to intentional and strategic youth engagement. He emphasized flagship initiatives such as the NIYA Digital Jobs Programme, the Corpreneurship Startup Scheme, and the upcoming National Youth Conference, as practical tools for equipping Nigerian youth for leadership and innovation.
He also pointed to the recent increase in NYSC Corps Members’ allowance from ₦33,000 to ₦77,000 as a concrete step by Mr. President towards improving the welfare of young Nigerians.
“This administration is not just listening to the youths it is acting in their favour,” Olawande noted. “The story of these 200 honorees is proof that when given the right environment, Nigerian youth will always rise to the occasion.”
The 2025 NYSC Honours Award Ceremony marks a proud moment in the PBAT administration’s youth agenda and signals its sustained commitment to empowering the next generation of nation builders.
