Youth Minister Engages Ohanaeze Ndigbo Youth wing worldwide

 

The Minister of State for Youth Development, Ayodele Olawande, Friday, visited Enugu state to engage with the Ohanaeze Ndigbo youth wing worldwide.

The Minister was received on arrival by the group's President General, Chief Engr. E.C Iwuanyanwu, ably represented by the Grand Patron of the group, High Chief Engr. Johnbosco Onunkwo(Onwa). Other members of the welcoming delegation included the Acting National Youth Leader, Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide, Mazi Chukwuma Okpalaezeukwu, as well as other executive members of the apex Igbo youth group.

During the engagement session, which took place at the Banquet Hall, old government lodge, the National Youth Leader of the group expressed his profound gratitude to the Honorable Minister, noting that the convention was a youth brainstorming session aimed at dissecting topical issues like agricultural development, industrial development, security, education, employment, and skill acquisition; especially as they relate to the welfare and progress of Igbo youths.

The Grand Patron, Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide Youth Wing, High Chief Engr. Johnbosco Onunkwo( Onwa), on his part, spoke on the hostility to Igbos outside Igboland. He lamented the insecurities ravaging most eastern states and called on the federal government to prioritize the return of peace to Igbo land.

In his response, The Minister, Ayodele Olawande, appreciated the Ohanaeze Ndigbo for their warm welcome and spoke about how industrious and formidable the Igbos are. He also urged major stakeholders present at the event to invest more in building industries within the eastern region as a way of reducing unemployment and boosting the economy of the country. 

He pledged his commitment and willingness to work with the group to ensure the prosperity of the Igbo people, especially the youth, in all areas of life. The Minister also mentioned the numerous initiatives of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR towards ensuring that Nigerian youth in general benefit from the #RenewedHopeAgenda of the administration.
